Quantum batteries (QBs) extend the concept of energy storage into the quantum domain, offering new possibilities for storing and extracting energy on demand in a wide range of quantum technologies. In this talk, we will begin by introducing the basic principles and architecture of quantum batteries, reviewing key developments in the field and discussing several proof-of-principle experimental implementations. We will then explore the role of quantum batteries in quantum computation. Finally, we will briefly present our recent results on the interplay between non-stabilizerness as a resource for quantum computation and the construction of spin-chain-based quantum batteries.

Pokaż abstrakt We will explain how some relevant properties of quantum states, particularly entanglement properties, can be tested by exploiting symmetries and using copies. We will start from the basic task of determining whether two states are equal, and see how this applies to detect and measure entanglement on two copies. We will understand the swap test in terms of the symmetries diagonalizing the Hilbert space, which will be the basis for the more general case. This will lead us to two roads: measuring entanglement on multipartite systems with the so-called geometric measure; and estimating the spectrum of single-partite mixed states, namely the entanglement spectrum of pure bipartite states, and its extension to mixed bipartite states. The rest of the talk will be dedicated to understanding these two directions. The talk is based on recent work of the Theoretical Quantum Optics group in Siegen (Germany), although it will be more focused on the techniques used rather than the results themselves. |
